A 30-year-old Airtel agent of Lusaka’s Makeni area has been dragged to court for allegedly defiling two girls under the age of 16.

In this matter, Micheal Old is charged with two counts of defilement of a child contrary to section 138 (1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia .

It is alleged in the first and second counts that Old, between January 2, 2018 and March 13, 2019 in Lusaka, had unlawful carnal knowledge of two girls under the age of 16.

The accused is expected to take plea soon in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man of Linda Township has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping and robbing two women.

In this matter, Derrick Daka is facing two counts of rape and two counts of robbery involving over K2,000.

Particulars of the offence in the first count allege that Daka on January 11, 2018 in Lusaka had carnal knowledge of a woman without her consent.

In the second count, it is alleged that Daka on the same date stole one Huawei phone and K70 cash, altogether valued at K1,670, property of the victim and at or immediately after the time of such stealing did use or threaten to use actual violence to the said victim in order to obtain the property or overcome resistance to it being stolen.

It is further alleged in the third count that Daka on January 29, 2018 in Lusaka, Chilanga district had carnal knowledge of another woman without her consent.

And in the fourth count, Daka on the same date stole one techno tablet valued at K1,500, property of the victim and immediately after the time of such stealing, did use or threaten to use actual violence to the said woman in order to obtain the property or overcome resistance to it being stolen.
