Chifubu PF member of parliament Frank Ng’ambi has pleaded not guilty to a count of causing grievous harm to his wife.

Ng’ambi is charged with acts intended to cause grievous harm when he, on June 7 this year, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable, cause grievous harm to his wife Agness.

In July this year, the Ndola Magistrates’ Court committed Ng’ambi to the High Court for trial in this case.

When the matter came up Monday morning in the September session before Ndola High Court judge Yvonne Chembe, Ng’ambi said he understood the charge but pleaded not guilty.

“I understand the charge. I plead not guilty,” said Ng’ambi who is represented by three lawyers in this matter.

Judge Chembe adjourned the matter to September 17, 2019 for possible commencement of trial.
