Zambia Under-20 national team midfielder Emmanuel Banda is confident they will finish in the medal brackets at this month’s’ 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea.

“We are very prepared for the tournament. We are more than ready actually. As an individual, my targets are to play to my fullest and my best and to come back with a medal,” the 2017 U20 AFCON star said.

“The target we have as a team is to scoop a medal as well and I know it is very possible and we will do it.”

Beston Chambeshi side is in Group C at the tournament South Korea is hosting from May 20 to June 11.

Iran, Costa Rica and two-time FIFA U20 World champions Portugal are Zambia’s Group C opponents.

Zambia will kickoff their campaign on May 21 against Portugal in Jeju where they will be based.

Young Chipolopolo has made it to the knockout stage of the FUIFA U20 World Cup only once at the 2007 finals in Canada where they were eliminated in the last 16 after losing 2-1 to Nigeria.

This will be Zambia’s third outing at the FIFA U20 World Cup after making their debut at the 1999 tournament in Nigeria.
