Chipolopolo midfielder Enock Mwepu scored a brace on Friday evening to guide Austrian 2nd division side FC Liefering to a 3-1 home win over Hartberg.

The match came after a disappointing Chipolopolo outing for Mwepu last weekend when they lost 1-0 away to Nigeria to end Zambia’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualification hopes.

Mwepu put Liefering ahead in the 7th minute from the penalty spot before completing his brace in the 66th minute to give them a 2-0 lead to firmly set his team on its way to a 3-1 victory.

The Zambian midfielder played the full 90 minutes for 4th placed Liefering in the win over Hartberg who are just below them at number 5.

Mwepu took his tally to four goals in his first season with the Austrian club, eight goals behind Seifedin Chabbi of league leaders Ried.
