According to an invitation from the country’s football association, Namibia will pay for air tickets, accommodation, food and transport when Zambia play the brave warriors at the Hage Geingob tournament on 9 September.

The Association clarified that it would cater for 30 people from the Zambian camp to aid them participate at the tournament.

“On behalf of His Excellency Dr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, I would like to extend my most sincere invitation to your Senior National Team, Chipolopolo, to participate in the Dr. Hage Geingob Cup 2019 against the Namibia National Team, Brave Warriors, on the 9‘” November 2019 in Windhoek. The competition is a brainchild of the Namibia Football Association and its Patron, His Excellency President Dr. Hage Geingob, and aims to bring an additional quality event to our football calendar, which in turn will benefit the development of the game,” read an invitation in part.

The match will be played at Sam Nujoma Stadium at 16:00 hours Central African Time.

“Sam Nujoma Stadium (Artificial Turf) Kick off Time: 16:00 The NFA will cater for the following items: 30 return tickets from Lusaka to Windhoek on Air Namibia, Accommodation for 30 people at a 5-star Hotel (Windhoek Country Club & Resort) ,local Transport, meals, and refreshments. We hope to make your visit and stay very comfortable. On behalf of the NFA and the entire football family of Namibia, I would like to thank you in advance and wish you a save journey to Windhoek.”

Zambia accepted the invitation to play Namibia following cancellation of the international friendly match between Chipolopolo and Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

FAZ cited violence in South Africa as a reason for the cancellation.
