Kansanshi Dynamos fans were on Saturday stoned by supporters of their rivals Mufulira Wonderers’ after the Solwezi outfit beat the Copperbelt-based side at their backyard by two goals to nil.

The once mighty Mufulira has recently failed to live up to its name and were conquered on Saturday by a side that was recently promoted to the super division.

Wonderers were over the years stubborn to beat at Shinde stadium but received their first shock of the season when the Solwezi side easily breached the defence to secure all three points and move to fourth position on the log.

The loss infuriated the home supporters who could not help but resort to stones in a bid to reclaim their ‘mighty’ status.

Dynamos media team revealed to Goal Diggers that their supporters were stoned and some fans rushed to medical centres for treatment as they sustained serious injuries.

The loss at Shinde left Wonderers just outside the relegation zone after four matches into the season.

Wonderers was once one of Zambian super league giants where players, including soccer icon Kalusha Bwalya, rose to stardom in the early eighties.

The club has been fighting relegation over past seasons in the super league.

In 2018, Wonderers were almost relegated in the transitional league.
