SECOND republican president Frederick Chiluba’s widow Regina Mwanza has died after a long battle with cancer.

Family members confirmed that she died at the University Teaching Hospital at 12:30 today.

In November 2016, government had evacuated Regina to Apollo Hospital in India, for cancer treatment.

But she was immediately admitted to UTH after returning from India last week as her condition was deemed terminal.

Regina is survived by her children Bwalya, Malama and Mando.

Her husband, Chiluba, died in 2011 from a heart condition he had suffered from since 2006.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
