Women Empowerment advocate Henry Chilombo says all well meaning Zambians must appreciate and support government efforts to end rural poverty.

Speaking on behalf of the Women’s Club in Lufwanyama district when he received a donation from the Minister of Community Development and Social Welfare Emerine Kabanshi, Chilombo thanked government for reaffirming its commitment of supporting women.

“Any empowerment program for the women especially in rural areas should be supported. We have seen a lot of empowerment projects which the PF government has rolled out in Lufwanyama and our women are benefiting. This is showing how much the PF and President Edgar Lungu care for our people,” he said.

Chilombo who was also a PF 2016 parliamentary aspirant for Lufwanyama noted that President Lungu’s government had prioritised the supporting of women clubs through empowerment programs.

“President Edgar Lungu values the contribution of women in national development hence the rolling out of programs to empower them. The women of Lufwanyama district will stand to benefit from the social cash transfer scheme which is being implemented under the Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare,” said Chilombo.

Kabanshi recently made a donation of over thirty six bicycles, six motor bikes and a Toyota land cruiser towards the empowerment of Lufwanyama womens club on the Copperbelt.
