The Southern African Partnership for Democratic Change (SAPDC) has invited Zambia’s opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for various activities, among them to attend South Africa’s Parliament sitting.

According to the UPND press office, Hichilema will also hold a joint press conference with SAPDC chairman Mmusi Maimane.

“Mr Hichilema is tomorrow (today) August 31, 2017 expected to address a press conference in South Africa organized by SAPDC Chairperson, Mr Mmusi Maimane. Mr Hichilema has also been invited to a South Africa’s parliamentary sitting which will be addressed by President Jacob Zuma in order to encourage him to continue standing up for peace, democracy and development in Zambia,” stated the UPND.

“At 14:00hours the South African Parliament will also lay on the table of the house a question on Zambia’s democracy and eventual previous arrest and detention of Mr Hichilema. And during the Press conference to take place at 11:30 hours, Mr Hichilema will be joined by Mr Maimane to address issues that will promote both democracy and development of Zambia.
