Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo says a K50,000 bounty is on offer to any person with information that can lead to the capture and arrest of assailants who killed a Chinese businessman based in Ndola.

Yesterday, armed criminals shot dead a Chinese national identified as Pangfei Zhu aged, 32, a director at Amaya Investment Limited in the Light Industrial Area of Masala.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga said the criminals raided the premise around 08:30 hours and stole undisclosed sums of money before leaving in a stollen Toyota Noah.

She said the eight criminals wore masks and two were armed with AK47 rifles while others were armed with pangas.

Following up on the development, Katongo said a K50,000 reward was on offer.

“The Criminals were clad in military camouflage tops and ordered everyone to lie down. They tied three Chinese nationals and later shot one of them identified as Pangfei Zhu aged 32 in the back and stole undisclosed amount of money and a Toyota Noah registration number ALT 8528, black in colour,” said Katongo.

“The Zambia – Chinese Association is offering a reward of K50,000 to any person with information that will lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of criminals. Police have also instituted investigations.”
