Police in Lusaka have arrested a 48-year-old Turkish national for assaulting his security guard and chaining him to a grill door.

According to a statement issued by assistant police public relations officer Godfrey Chilabi, Thursday, Aslan Ayhan also discharged a firearm around 02:00 hours on Wednesday.

Police, however, did not explain what caused the incident.

“Mr. Aslan Ayhan ( a Turkish national) aged 48, Director of Ynusemre Block Factory in Makeni has been officially charged and arrested for two counts: (1) Threatening Violence Contrary to Section 90 Cap. 87. (2)Assault OABH Contrary to Sec.248 Cap 87 of the Penal Code of Laws of Zambia. This is in a matter in which he is alleged to have physically assaulted and chained Morgan Mwale a security guard to a grill door and later discharged a firearm,” Chilabi stated.

“The incident happened yesterday 30th May 2018 around 02:00 at Ynusemre factory in Makeni. Ackim Munthali a supervisor is also jointly charged with Aslan in the case of Assault OABH. Both suspects are in police custody and will appear in court soon.”
