PF deputy media director Antonio Mwanza has charged that MMD president Nevers Mumba is a lost soul who needs Jesus to help him realise that God created him to preach and not to get involved in politics.

And Mwanza says President Edgar Lungu is a humble man who has executed his duties as President with dignity, honour and excellence.

Meanwhile Mwanza says there’s nothing that can make PF leaders run away from Zambia or judgement because none of them have been named in the Auditor General’s report.

On Monday, Mumba charged that an earthly judgement day was coming and advised President Lungu and all corrupt PF members to prepare to be held accountable for their corrupt activities and mismanagement of resources done whilst in office.

“When all the things you have done will be put as charges on that judgement day. And once that comes, all the things that we are denying to have done are going to weigh heavily on us and against us before God and before the Zambian people and before the courts of law in this country. so, let’s not be impatient. Let’s keep saying the truth, let’s keep condemning the wrongs, warning those that are stealing from the people. That is our job. We don’t have power to make them stop, we have to wait for that judgement day and once it comes like what has happened in Zimbabwe for instance where $850, 000 has been retrieved from the people in the previous regime. So that money will come back to the Zambian people,” Mumba warned.

But Mwanza asked Mumba to reflect on his life and realize that politics was not working out for him.

“I would like to make it very clear to Mr Nevers Mumba that he needs to take time to read the book of Jonah. He can read from Chapter one up to Chapter four and he will see how Jonah was tasked by God for running away from what God had told him to do. God had told Jonah to go to Nineveh to preach to the great city of Nineveh and Jonah in stubbornness and arrogance, ran to Tarshish and the end of Jonah is documented,” Mwanza said.

“So I want Mr Nevers Mumba to go and read this book and reflect on his life because it is very clear that Mr Mumba was doing very well as a preacher man on the pulpit with his program ‘Zambia shall be served’. When he looked at the splendour of leadership, he decided to say ‘no being a preacher man is not enough, I also want to go there and eat where they are eating from and be worshiped and be called your excellence’. So he decided to go into politics and his political journey has been disastrous.”

Mwanza said if someone was to worry about prison, it was Mumba as he was already facing countless charges before the courts of law.

“This is the man who formed his own party, failed to run a political party, he sold it out to MMD, he was given a job as Vice-President, he failed to run that office, he was fired. He went to MMD, he has failed to run MMD, he is disputed he doesn’t own MMD anymore, there is now two factions. So we understand that he is a lost soul and he needs help, he needs Jesus, we need to continue praying for him so that he can come back to his senses and realise the real purpose God created him for and that purpose was for him to preach the word of God and not to be involved in politics. You can see from the disastrous decisions he has made and where he is today,” he said.

“So if there is anyone who should be worried about prison, it should Mr Nevers Mumba because as we are speaking right now, he is in the courts of law facing serious charges, criminal offences. So he should concentrate on defending himself in the courts of law than to bring the name of the President into ridicule.”

And Mwanza said President Lungu was a humble man who had executed his duties as President with dignity, honour and excellence.

“I would like to make it very clear to Mr Nevers Mumba that President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has executed his duties as President of the Republic of Zambia and Commannder-in-Chief of the armed forces with dignity honour and excellence. The people of Zambia will always remember him as a humble man who never changed his humbleness even when he moved from Chawama to State House. President Edgar has fought against corruption not by rhetoric but by putting up legislation that will ensure that we strengthen institutions and we strengthen the legal framework and mechanisms to fight corruption,” Mwanza said.

“He has not used rhetoric because you do not fight corruption through rhetoric. You fight corruption by putting up appropriate measures to ensure that culprits are brought to book. That institutions that have been charged with the responsibility to deal with matters of corruption are given adequate financing as well as legal impenitence for them to do the work.”

Meanwhile, Mwanza said nothing could make PF leaders run away from Zambia or judgement because non of them had been named in the Auditor General’s report.

“So in terms of corruption, President Edgar Lungu under his leadership has ensured that in the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia there is a specific article that gives express authority to the Auditor General’s office to report anyone directly to the law enforcement agency. So he is a President that has been fighting corruption, not with words, but with deeds and he has put practical measures to fight corruption. So there is no reason whatsoever why President Edgar Lungu would run or the leadership of PF would run away should apf loose power. Because you can look through the Auditor General’s report, there is no where where a member of PF leadership has been named in any of those Auditor General’s reports. So there is nothing that will make leaders of the PF to run away from Zambia or judgement,” said Mwanza.
