Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says the command is investigating a matter in which Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Lawrence Sichalwe circulated a pornographic video on WhatsApp.

Responding to questions from journalists who wanted to know what police was doing about the matter, Katongo said it did not matter whether one posted obscene material by mistake or not because the law forbade anyone from being in possession or sharing such.

Katongo said for someone to post by mistake, it meant that the person was in possession of the same.

“Our officers are already investigating the matter. I told the Diamond TV reporter that I had not seen the video but to comment from a general perspective, it does not matter whether one posted obscene material by mistake or not because the law says possession of such material is an offence. For someone to post by mistake it means that person was in possession of the same. I was asked whether he would be prosecuted being a minister and my response was that the law does not segregate, even a minister can be prosecuted,” said Katongo.
