INCARCERATED PF Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda has applied for bail pending the hearing and determination of his appeal in the matter where the High Court upheld his 18 months’ imprisonment for defaming President Hakainde Hichilema. Last month, High Court Judge Anne Malata-Ononuju upheld the 18-month jail sentence handed to Nakacinda by the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for defamation of the President. This followed the conviction and sentencing of Nakacinda by Lusaka Magistrate Ireen Wishimanga on May 17, last year.
