LAZ and other civil society organisations have petitioned the State in the Constitutional Court, demanding an order quashing all acts, consultations, findings, recommendations and draft Bills by the Technical Committee on Constitution amendments. LAZ, NGOCC, the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia, the Council of Churches in Zambia, the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the LCK Freedom Foundation have cited the Attorney General as the respondent. They want the court to quash the Terms of Reference issued on October 20, 2025, and an order directing that government initiates any future constitutional review or amendment process only through an independent, transparent, inclusive and people-driven mechanism established by or under enabling legislation.
