CHIEF Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has announced that Cabinet has approved the introduction of the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill in Parliament, aimed at enhancing corporate governance of the Anti-Corruption Commission. Mweetwa says Cabinet also approved the Criminal Procedure Code Bill, which seeks to expand forensic procedures and make serious offences like sexual crimes, theft of drugs and minerals as well as the destruction of critical infrastructure non-bailable. Meanwhile, Cabinet has approved the Mobile Money Transaction Levy (Amendment) Bill, 2025, aimed at revising the levy payable on person-to-person transfers. Another Bill approved is the Food Reserve Bill, 2025, aimed at re-defining the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) functions and re-constituting the Board of the Agency.
