CHIEFTAINESS Chiawa of the Goba people in Kafue district has welcomed the constitutional amendments, saying her chiefdom should be delimitated into its own constituency. She argues that her chiefdom, being over 100 kilometers from Kafue’s constituency capital, makes it difficult for residents to access services and limits their voice in governance. She has also welcomed the mixed-member proportional representation system for women’s representation, saying it would ensure more women hold seats in Parliament and local councils.
