THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) has directed Ziyang Manufacturing Company Limited to implement corrective public health measures before it is allowed to resume operations. The Council says the company must ensure proper sanitation around the premises, construct adequate sanitary facilities for both male and female workers, and remove buckets that were being used as toilets. Recently, the LCC suspended operations at Ziyang Manufacturing Company Limited, a Chinese entity, due to gross violations of public health standards. LCC said an inspection revealed that factory workers were locked inside the facility from opening to closing time, forcing them to use buckets as toilets.
