SPEAKER of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti has declared the Chawama seat vacant following the continued absence of the member of parliament, Tasila Lungu. Tasila has been absent since the death of her father, former president Edgar Lungu, in June. Meanwhile, Tasila says she had made every effort to represent the people of Chawama, including virtually. In her ruling, Friday, Speaker Mutti said Tasila had abrogated the directive to present herself and attend to the business of the House during the Fifth Session of the 13th National Assembly. “As earlier indicated, I had directed Ms T Lungu to present herself and to attend the business of the House within the Fifth Session of the opening of the 13th National Assembly....
