A Joint Security Taskforce in Lusaka has apprehended 79 people, including 35 Ugandans and 11 Chinese nationals, following an operation targeting a suspected cybercrime network. The taskforce which includes the Zambia Police Service, Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), Department of Immigration, Zambia Cyber Security Agency and other security institutions, follows a tip-off from concerned members of the public regarding suspicious activities at the premises. In a joint statement, Monday, the team said the operation was conducted on August 23, 2026, at Evana Estates in New Kasama following a tip-off from members of the public.
