Buffaloes took advantage of Diggers and Arrows inactivity this weekend to go second on the 2017 Zambia Rugby Union League table after a 46-6 away win over Nchanga at the Lions Den in Chingola on Saturday.
Buffaloes move four points up the log to 36 points thanks to the bonus point they earned after the four tries their placed against Nchanga.
Larry Kaushiku scored three tries while Ferdinand Kashimoto,Chola Chilufya, Richard Kapoma and Raphael Mulenga placed a try each.
Kashimoto chipped in with a conversion so too did Sotho Kafwimbi and Niven Kunda.
Nchanga’s 6 points on the day came via penalties converted by Kanyanya Lombe but the Chingola side remain bottom of the table in 15th place and winless after nine successive defeats.
Buffaloes are now 10 points behind leaders KPF who beat Green Eagles 26-6 in Kitwe.
The Army side is also one point behind defending champions Arrows who are 3rd and were on bye this weekend.
Fourth placed Diggers are also on 33 points and did not travel Mufulira due to mass injuries in their camp and the match was postponed.
