THE land scandal involving a company that calls itself the National Housing Empowerment Fund (NHEF) makes very sad reading. Purchasing land is one of the wisest investments that one can make because it is an appreciating asset with low risks involved. Land appreciates because it is limited in supply; consequently, as the population increases, so does the demand, driving its price up over time. Those who try to invest in land have to be applauded.
