The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has sentenced three Zimbabwean women to nine months simple imprisonment for stealing food from PicknPay, East Park Mall.
This was after Lindani Ndhlovu, Joyce Mutanda and Thembi Nkhosi Ndhlovu of Lusaka’s Chunga compound pleaded guilty to a charge of theft before Lusaka senior resident magistrate Ireen Wishimanga.
The trio is alleged to have between October 30 and November 1, 2017 jointly and whilst acting together stolen 48 multi vitamin supplements, 13 chocolates and 69 Gillette blades; altogether valued at K18,887.
MagistrateWishimanga ordered that the nine-month sentence is with immediate effect from the day of arrest.
Facts before the court were that the accused managed to steal from Pick n Pay without being detected but were apprehended after trying to steal from the same section they had stolen food from.
