FORMER president Edgar Lungu’s daughter, Tasila, has told the Lusaka High Court that she does not wish to continue her corruption defamation claims against News Diggers Media Limited and the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) in the Mukula smuggling case. Tasila, former justice minister Given Lubinda and former lands minister Jean Kapata sued News Diggers Media Limited and the EIA in January 2020, demanding damages for libel. This application comes just before the continuation of trial on 25 and 26 next month and after the grilling of Lubinda in cross examination where he admitted receiving money from a Chinese company while serving as minister, failure to pay taxes to ZRA and using a non-existent property to obtain a loan.
