Four Patriotic Front cadres cadres who intercepted a convoy of Mukula trucks have been dragged to court for theft.
Venny Musonda, Augustine Mukuka, Robson Chipili and Fanny Zimba are alleged to have stolen, whilst acting together, K17,000, USD1,300 and a cellphone altogether valued at K36,000 the property of ZAFFICO.
Musonda and his co-accused are expected to take plea on Monday next week.
The offense was allegedly committed on December 29, 2017 when they intercepted Mukula trucks which they suspected was being exported by senior members of the party who wanted to enrich themselves at the expense of others.
The logs have since transported by ZAFFICO whom government says is the only institution mandated to export illegally harvested Mukula.
