FORMER PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri says she is not a fool to sue the state now for compensation but will wait for 2027 when a “responsible and fair government comes in”. On Monday, Justice Minister Mulambo Haimbe said Phiri should sue the state for compensation if she felt that she was wrongfully detained, but said compensation was not automatic. Haimbe was responding to Phiri’s earlier remarks that at an appropriate time, she would also sue the state for compensation since everyone was being paid.
