A MULTI-disciplinary team led by parliamentary committee on health chairperson, Dr Christopher Kalila, has arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to conduct a pre-inspection routine of the second dispatch of drugs that government has procured through the Zambia Medicine and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA). In October last year, ZAMMSA received the first batch of essential medicines and medical supplies procured from Egypt at a cost of US$24 million under a government-to-government agreement. ZAMMSA had earlier signed a Government to Government Bulk Procurement Agreement with the Unified Procurement Authority (UPA) of the Arab Republic of Egypt for the supply and delivery of assorted medicines and medical supplies.
