THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted and sentenced a 26-year-old man to two years imprisonment for impersonating Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga and obtaining money by false pretence. Melos Moonga, a businessman, was facing three counts of obtaining money by false pretence and identity related crimes. Particulars of the offence in count one were that Moonga, on unknown dates but between January 31, 2023 and February 28, 2023, in Lusaka, with intent to deceive or defraud did obtain K155 from Moses Simweene by false pretenses that he would be employed in the Police Service when in fact not.
