HEALTH Minister Sylvia Masebo has revealed that 3,640 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer while 2,285 died from the disease in 2022. Speaking when WHO cervical cancer elimination initiative paid a courtesy on the minister, Thursday, Masebo said the disease had been silently impacting the lives of women by reducing the quality of their life through illness, social seclusion, economic hardships associated with the cost of treatment and untimely deaths. “Our country has a population of about 10 million females of which about 6 million women aged 15 years and older are at risk of developing cervical cancer.
