A DIRECTOR of Finance at the National Assembly has told the court that Shiwang’andu PF MP Stephen Kampyongo received K5.8 million in emoluments between September 2011 and December 2021. Mweemba Mungo testified that the emoluments comprised salaries, gratuities and sitting allowances. This is in a matter where former home affairs minister Stephen Kampyongo and his wife, Wanziya Chirwa are charged with 12 counts of being in possession of property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime. Lusaka Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya found the couple with a case to answer and placed them on their defence.
