THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted and sentenced former Intercity PF cadre Francis Muchemwa to three years imprisonment with hard labour for possessing property suspected of being proceeds of crime. Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili has also fined Muchemwa K141,400, in default, he will serve a prison sentence of nine months, for obtaining pecuniary advantage under false pretences from Zesco. Magistrate Chibwili further fined Friltech Networks Zambia Limited and Altitude Properties Limited, both owned by Muchemwa, K600,000 and K400,000, respectively, for possessing property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.
