THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has dismissed governance activist Brebnar Changala’s application to subpoena President Hakainde Hichilema as a witness in a matter in which he is charged with sedition. Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili has ruled that Changala did not give sufficient reasons to subpoena President Hichilema. In his application, Changala had asked the court for permission to subpoena Vice-President Mutale Nalumango, president of the Constitutional Court Professor Margret Munalula, the Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti, Minister of Home Affairs Jack Mwiimbu and Inspector General of Police Graphael Musamba, among others.
