THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted and fined National Democratic Congress (NDC) president Saboi Imboela K25,000 for publishing defamatory matters against Clayson Hamasaka. This was after her lawyer Sakwiba Sikota, State Counsel, put up a spirited mitigation, saying Imboela, a single mother, was involved in many charitable activities, including paying a K680 monthly DStv subscription for women in Chimbokaila Prison, where she was briefly held. In this matter, Imboela was facing two counts of libel.
