THE Ndola High Court, Industrial and Labour Division, has ordered Zambia Daily Mail to pay its former photojournalist, Stafrance Zulu, K241,871.70 in defined contribution benefits he accumulated before his dismissal. This is in a matter where Zulu had sued the newspaper, demanding a declaration that he was wrongly dismissed by the institution. Zulu was dismissed from work after he caused to be published on the institution’s online platform a photo of people queuing up to buy mealie meal, which was according to the newspaper’s Managing Director Simate Simate ‘in bad taste’.
