FORMER Lumezi Independent MP Munir Zulu has appealed his one-year sentence in the Lusaka High Court after being convicted in a matter where he was charged with libel. Zulu has also applied for bail pending the hearing and determination of his appeal. In this matter, Zulu was accused of making defamatory remarks against Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane, his Infrastructure counterpart Charles Milupi, and RDA Board Chairperson Mulchand Kuntawala. On April 7, 2025, Lusaka Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili convicted and sentenced Zulu to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour.
