A 36-YEAR-OLD tyre fitter at Zambia Sugar PLC has died after being struck by a split rim when a crane tyre he was inflating burst. Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident, which happened on Thursday, August 21, shortly after 08:00 hours at the company’s Motor Transport Workshop in Mazabuka. “At 11:04 hours, Mazabuka Police Station received a report of a sudden and unnatural death (misadventure) from Mr. Luckwell Mulumbwa, 51, Branch Manager of Kaltyre Company, a subsidiary of Zambia Sugar PLC.
