SOCIALIST Party (SP) National Youth Chairperson Kelvin Kaunda says politicians begin stealing when they realise that their status does not match their income. Kaunda has wondered what is so ‘honourable’ about elected leaders for citizens to treat them and call them by that title. On Tuesday, former late president Levy Mwanawasa’s special assistant, Martin Kalungu-Banda said people aspiring for leadership positions should not look at paychecks and owning vehicles, adding that when the wrong people were attracted into public service, corruption becomes endemic.
