CONSERVATION Advocate Zambia (CAZ) Founder Mehluli Batakathi has questioned government’s stance in declaring Copperbelt water safe, while still conducting further investigations into the Sino Metals incident. Batakathi, who is also a lawyer representing Kalulushi residents, says government should not trivialise the issue of water safety, as it directly affects people’s lives. Recently, Minister of Mines Paul Kabuswe said there should be no panic among Copperbelt residents as no one has presented any symptoms related to water contamination.
