LIVINGSTONE High Court Judge Mbile Wina has sentenced a 26-year-old man of Sinazongwe District to 19 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for indecently assaulting a six-year-old girl. The court heard that Kelvin Simweete lured the girl and her friend away from their home on the pretext that they should help him look for a K20 note he claimed to have lost. Following his conviction in the Magistrates’ Court on October 31, 2024, the matter was committed to the Livingstone High Court for sentencing pursuant to Section 217 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
