POLICE in Ndola have confirmed that they stopped a crowd of over 1,000 citizens at Kantolomba cemetery who were illegally mining a material that they suspected to be gold. In an interview, Copperbelt Police Commissioner Pathias Siandenge confirmed that trading of the said material had already begun, with bags selling for K120 to K150 each. He said the police had already cautioned the perpetrators against continuing with the activity. “People are mining there, I can confirm that.
