THE Court of Appeal has granted bail to Shiwang’andu PF MP Stephen Kampyongo’s wife, Wanziya Chirwa, pending determination of her appeal against a three-year sentence. On September 27, 2024, Lusaka Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya convicted and sentenced Chirwa to three years simple imprisonment for being in possession of proceeds of crime. And in November last year, Chirwa asked the High Court to grant her bail pending appeal against the sentence. However, High Court Judges Anne Ononuju, Ian Mabbolobbolo and Vincent Siloka denied her bail, stating that Chirwa’s grounds of appeal had no prospects of success.
