THE main complainant in the case where former Kasama MP Kelvin Sampa is charged with theft has told the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that Sampa collected his US$5,600 and K6,600 at the Lusaka Central Police Station without his consent. Augustus Inyang Akpan said Richard Shula, a Police officer, was the last person that handled his US$5,600 and K6,600 that was allegedly stolen from him. In this case, Sampa, 52, is jointly charged with Richard Shula, 45, a Police officer. In count one, Sampa is charged with theft, contrary to Section 272 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
