FOREIGN Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe has addressed claims that the German Embassy denied 18 Zambian MPs visas, explaining that the applications were not submitted to the embassy as the request for a Note Verbale was made only five days before the intended travel. Haimbe says members of parliament are therefore required to submit applications at least 10 to 15 days before the intended travel date to accommodate administrative processing. Last week, Bwana Mkubwa MP Warren Mwambazi claimed that he and 17 other MPs were denied visas to travel to Berlin, something the German Ambassador to Zambia Soenke Seimon has refuted.
