ARTISTE Petersen says while fans still associate him with hard-hitting songs like Anyandule and the commentary that once defined his music, he no longer sings on those topics because the system is not as tolerant as it was in the past. Petersen adds that he does not “hold the title deeds” for speaking out on national concerns, as anyone else can do it. For him, it no longer makes sense to engage in unnecessary battles, especially when life demands focus, stability and responsibility. The artiste says over time, he has also learnt which songs earn him money and which ones fail to generate income.
