CHINGOLA Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe has declared his interest in contesting as a member of parliament in 2026. In an interview, Kang’ombe said Chingola would be granted another constituency following the enactment of Bill 7, in line with the recommendations of the 2019 delimitation report. He said he would contest the seat in the constituency that would be created after delimitation. “I’m happy for Bill 7 because Chingola now will have one or two extra constituencies. According to the delimitation report conducted in 2019, we submitted four constituencies here in Chingola. And they are going to give us either one or two. I have declared my interest, I’m contesting now as a member of parliament for the new constituency in Chingola....
