THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court has convicted and ordered Mweene Mweemba and Sydney Kunda to pay over K5.5 million to the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) for smuggling assorted alcoholic beverages into the country. In a statement, Wednesday, ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala disclosed that the Court directed Mweemba and Kunda to remit a total of K5,562,816.79 to the ZRA, broken down into K5,085,983.91 in unpaid duties and taxes, K376,832.87 in penalties, and K100,000 in prosecution costs.
