A 44-YEAR-OLD Chinese businessman has been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting a female police officer. In this matter, Zhao Bin is charged with one count of assault on a Police Officer contrary to Section 250(b) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. It is alleged that Zhao, on November 29, 2025, in Lusaka, did assault number 44167 Sergeant Chipo P. Matulula, an officer of the Zambia Police Service, in the due execution of her duty. When the matter came up before Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili, Wednesday, he allocated the case to himself.
