THE Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) says there is need to undertake a complete review of the reforms governing Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). Recently, Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo expressed disappointment with the poor quality of the newly constructed Ndola-Sakania-Mufulira Road, which is being built under a PPP. Matambo directed the contractor to redo some sections of the road that had been patched up, warning that the current quality would not stand the test of time. In a related development, the Kakoso culvert along the Chingola-Kasumbalesa Road, about 15 kilometres from Chingola, was recently washed away following heavy rains and strong winds.
