MINISTRY of Education Permanent Secretary Dr Kelvin Mambwe says the sanitation challenges at the University of Zambia demonstrate that management in public institutions is not doing its best to help government run the institutions. His remarks come after University of Zambia students recently held a protest over poor sanitation on campus, as well as the tragic death of a second-year student who drowned after accidentally falling into a trench dug to address sewer problems. And government, through the directive of President Hakainde Hichilema, has released K23 million to address the University of Zambia’s water and sanitation challenges.
