GOVERNMENT yesterday introduced 16 Bills to the National Assembly, including the Free Education Bill and the Tobacco Bill. The Education Amendment Bill No. 6 seeks to introduce free education, while the Tobacco Bill seeks to revise the composition of the Board of the Tobacco Board of Zambia. Making free education law has been one of President Hakainde Hichilema’s key priorities before the dissolution of Parliament. The Free Education Bill was presented by Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima. The Bill was subsequently read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Education, Science and Technology.
